We would love you to run a socks and chocs collection on our behalf or to do a sponsored event for us (Find us on Virgin Money Giving)
We suggest that you limit your collection to new socks as new items will make a homeless person feel special.
When collecting chocolates be aware of the "use by" dates.
Sleeping Bags – clean, new or second hand, preferably small/compact
Underwear – pants, vests, new only (no second hand please)
Hats – woolly hats, caps, clean, new or second hand
Socks and Chocs is not only about money, we simply want to inspire you to make a donation or run a collection of actual socks and chocs near where you live. In other words “do what you can”. Yes money is useful but if times are hard just one pair of socks will help someone.
We are doing much more than Socks and Chocs now. We have funded a job club, sponsored a bed for a homeless person in a hostel for 6 months, supported sleeping bag exchange schemes, bought vans for homeless outreach teams and even been instrumental in helping set up a Rotary Cub Homeless Bus.
We can’t do this without money.
You can rest assured that no-one helping Socks and Chocs gets a salary or expenses as we all do what we can because we can and because we want to.
VIRGIN MONEY GIVING
We have a Virgin Money Giving page if you would like to donate there: VIRGIN MONEY GIVING.
You can also set up your own Virgin Money Giving Page for any sponsored event you wish to do. All you need to do is go HERE and as you set up your page simply search for Socks and Chocs and up we come.
If you wish to run a collection on behalf of Socks and Chocs we can advise you as to the best way to do this.
Initially, contact a local homeless centre to you. Ask them what they require and then start your collection amongst friends, family and colleagues.
Then contact Socks and Chocs at email@example.com to tell us the totals of what you have collected and where you are taking them to.
Once delivered tell the homeless centres that the collection was inspired by Socks and Chocs.
